Emerging job application trends

Tuesday 24 January 2017

Applying via mobile devices is increasing, in-demand candidates
are hiding online and job hopping is back. Only a few
examples of expected application trends in 2017. How is the employment agency going
Actief Werkt! as a fast-growing organization deal with this?

'Searching and approaching potential new employees via social is
not so simple anymore," says Kelly Keizer, corporate recruiter at Actief
Works! Job seekers are very critical and want to see more of the company than
just a job description. We work hard on our
labor market communication so that we can attract the best candidates.'

Applying comes after studying

Research by career platform Monsterboard confirms the above
statement. This shows that 75% job seekers leave the organization first
study well before actually applying. And that's not even
simply read the 'about us' webpage. 70% of this group spends at least
spent an hour looking for information about the company. To think of the
corporate culture, values, vision and career opportunities.

'We are working hard on our online presentation   . Een priority in 2017
to better manage the organization together with the Marketing & Communication team
to make. Candidates must be able to immediately see what we have to offer. Think of
a job site that is also easily accessible via mobile.'

Mobile application

Monsterboard expects applying via mobile devices to increase in
2017. Millennials (18-35 year olds) will make up the majority in a few years
of the working population and expect to do everything via their mobile phone
can arrange; from banking and shopping to dating and even applying for jobs.

As Corporate Recruitment within Actief Werkt! we are doing everything we can to participate
keep up with the latest trends. For example, we already work with social job
advertising on Facebook and LinkedIn', says the 30-year-old Keizer. 'We take
certainly the most important trends in recruitment in the coming year.'

Application trends 2017

But what are those important trends according to Monsterboard's recent research?

  1. Millennial generation forces employers to show even more of themselves online
  2. Mobile application becomes easier and more common for candidates and employers
  3. Employer branding is becoming an indispensable part of the recruitment strategy
  4. Programmatic advertising is conquering the recruitment market and helping employers reach talent wherever they are.
  5. The role of the recruiter is increasingly shifting to that of a recruitment marketer

'As an employment agency, we can only embrace these trends. Actief Werkt!
growing fast and we are looking for good, enterprising and enthusiastic
candidates.'
