What exactly does Actief Werkt do in the field of online recruitment?
In addition to the many 'offline' registrations at our branches throughout the country, we notice that online recruitment is becoming increasingly important for Actief Werkt! This starts with our website www. Actiewerkt.nl . At the beginning of February, we launched a completely revamped website with the main goal of increasing the conversion rate of applications. Together with the marketing team of Actief , we are constantly working on making our site easier to find through SEO, SEA, Linkbuilding, etc. You can also register for the vacancy alert on the site. As a job seeker you and preferences and you will be by email about suitable and new vacancies.
Own app
Almost everyone has a smartphone these days, which is why we developed a handy app a year ago. You can download our app Mijn Actief for free from the AppStore and Google Playstore. With Mijn Actief you can easily view your work schedule, salary specifications and contracts. You can also view your vacation days and all open vacancies. In addition, Mijn Actief is a kind of online employment agency , view vacancies 24/7 to which you can apply directly and easily!
Career sites
Like most employment agencies, we also use paid and unpaid job boards that post our vacancies. These job boards provide on average 60% of our visitors. The conversion percentage of the number of visitors who subsequently actually apply is around 10%.
social media
In recent years, we have increasingly focused on all kinds of social media platforms. Via LinkedIn we focus more on internal recruitment, customers and prospects. We mainly encounter our temporary on Facebook and Instagram . In addition to the regular posts on Facebook with which we reach our 4,600 fans, we now also use sponsored updates.
With these 'paid ads' we can reach our target audience very quickly and easily. Due to the endless options that Facebook offers to determine your target group, we can quickly bring to the attention of the right target group. Last month we reached almost 200,000 people for less than €1000. However, I must immediately mention that the conversion rate on Facebook is many times lower than with job boards. Quite logical, given that people on job boards are directly looking for a job. This is of course not always the case on social media.
Are you satisfied with the associated results?
I am definitely satisfied with the results of our online recruitment channels. Every time I am amazed how many people we reach. About the large group visitors that we attract with an advertisement on Facebook for such a relatively small amount. I personally always compare it to the 'old-fashioned' flyers. The amount that we now reach 10,000 people with is just 500 flyers. And I haven't even mentioned the layout, printing and distribution costs.
It's hard for me to say what works and what doesn't. Sometimes a Facebook ad works very well and we quickly fulfilled an urgent request from a customer. The other time it yields almost nothing and you try it via a mailing. It continues to search and above all to try. That's what makes my job so much fun!
What else can Actief Werkt! focus on?
In the future we will have to use tracking cookies. These cookies track your online behaviour. This means that if you view a certain vacancy on our website, you will see it in the banners when you visit another website.
Most of the people who visit our website are looking for a job. With an unemployment rate of 6.5%, it is smart to follow this 'limited group' to other websites via tracking cookies . This way we can reach our target group even better.
We are now looking for staff through channels such as our website, LinkedIn and job boards. Do you think this will be very different in 2025?
I do believe that a lot will have changed in 2025. The traditional means will probably still be there, but in a new guise. In recent years, many new ways to find candidates have been developed online, but the vacancies in are still there.
Applying is shifting from offline to online and now increasingly to mobile. I think this shift will continue to evolve towards apps. With our app Mijn Actief we are already preparing for the future. Nowadays your smartphone already knows a lot about you. Where you are, what you are looking for, follow, like, and share. On the basis of this data, suitable vacancies will be offered via the app.
