Further expansion of the Active Group in Germany

Thursday 7 December 2017

Active Group continues to strengthen its international expansion and announces a new acquisition in Germany.   After 2 previous acquisitions in September 2015 (ISU group) and in February 2017 (Timecraft), a third temporary employment agency is now being added to Actief Group in Germany: AB Zeitpersonal.

With the acquisition of AB Zeitpersonal, Actief Group increases its German footprint and adds a highly complementary company with a solid customer base to its portfolio. AB Zeitpersonal was founded more than 30 years ago and has since developed into a renowned, medium-sized employment agency with 45 offices spread across the central and western part of Germany. With this acquisition, we are convincingly expanding our coverage area in Germany and building further on achieving national coverage.

For Actief Group, this acquisition is an excellent opportunity to accelerate the realization of its growth ambitions and to grow into a true Western European player. After this transaction, the Actief Group will realize more than EUR 600 million turnover spread over Belgium, Germany and Nederland . The group operates through three Actief brand names: Actief Interim in Belgium, Actief Werkt! in Nederland and Actief Personalmanagement in Germany.

Heiko Harms, CEO of Actief Personalmanagement, about the transaction: “Since 2015, we have been implementing an ambitious roll-out program by opening new offices in order to realize our ambition to achieve national coverage in Germany. AB Zeitpersonal has a strong entrepreneurial culture and this fits very well with our organization. Moreover, from a geographical point of view, the company is very complementary to Active Personal Management: in addition to a higher coverage in our current regions, we are now also expanding our footprint to the North Rhine-Westphalia region. AB Zeitpersonal has an attractive customer base and a strong reputation in the market. I look forward to further expanding our German presence together with the AB Zeitpersonal team.” Mark Maesen, CEO of Actief Group, adds: ”Over the past 25 years, Actief Group has grown from a small local Belgian player to a successful international employment agency. We now have more than 180 offices across three countries, fully focused on providing high-quality temporary staffing services for small and medium-sized businesses. With two acquisitions in Nederland and now three in Germany (one in 2015 and two in 2017), we have established a strong position in the Dutch and German markets. Our goal is to become a top 10 player in each of these countries and welcoming AB Zeitpersonal is a big step forward in this regard.
