Jasper van Strien has been working at Techtron since October 2016 via Actief Werkt! in Veenendaal . He tells how he got there, what he does, and how he likes it.
Jasper is 25 years old and he lives in Arnhem . When not at work, he likes to play sports or hang out with friends. He is also still active as a police dog trainer at the dog club!
Surprised with a phone call
It was October 2016. Jasper was actively looking for a new job. What are you doing then? Scan the job boards and post your resume there. Jasper wasn't sure if he should expect much from this, but was soon surprised with a phone call from Mireille, branch manager of Actief Werkt! Veenendaal . Jasper: "I didn't know Actief Werkt! at all, but what she said sounded interesting. She asked me if I was interested in the position of 'Internal Sales Assistant' at Techtron. Een nice job at a great company."
Hard work and collegiality
Techtron is a very renowned provider of electrical solutions. The company consists of 50 specialists engaged in electrical engineering, technical management, industrial automation, drive technology and sustainable energy. There is a culture of hard work, collegiality, collaboration and the starting point is always: the very best for the customer!
Walking in the department
Jasper: "First I had an interview with Actief Veenendaal . With Mireille I spoke for a long time about my knowledge, experience, and how I work as a person. We also discussed the vacancy." Mireille saw that Jasper, with his background, but certainly also as a person fits within Techtron. She brought Jasper to Techtron's table for an introduction. "After this conversation, I spent a morning in the department. This was positive from both sides. We then paid attention to coordinating employment conditions, and then I could get to work!"
More and more responsibilities
How do you like Techtron? "Good! I am very welcome here and I am well guided. Techtron takes the time to teach and explain everything to me. They also give me the time to find my way and learn everything. I now work here a several weeks and I'm getting more and more responsibilities. I really like that. I'm happy to work at Techtron, because I think I can learn a lot here. The Friday afternoon drinks are always a lot of fun!"
No time sheets
"It actually works very well with Actief Werkt! . If I have a question or challenge, it is solved immediately. Actief to the wishes of the candidate where possible. In my first interview, ample time was taken for me. what my wishes are and what kind of organization I would fit in. She succeeded in that. And I don't have to fill in written time sheets ☺."
Education
Via Actief Werkt! , Jasper follows a course in 'basic electrical engineering' at TechCenter in Ede . Jasper: "I would like to grow in knowledge and position. And eventually go to the field service. It's great that Techtron and Actief Werkt! with you.
dream job
"I used to want to become a sales representative. I didn't really care about the industry. What is certain is that I like to be service-oriented and customer-oriented. So in that respect I'm well on my way!"
