This is how you can go on holiday this summer

Monday 22 June 2020

Have you had to change your holiday plans? Or are you still unsure whether your holiday can continue? Since 15 June, the travel advice for European countries has been relaxed. We can go on holiday abroad again. We can imagine that you sometimes lose the overview of what is and is not possible. We are happy to help you. As an employer, we think it is important that you alternate your work with the necessary relaxation, and that includes holidays.

In any case, don't forget to include the company you work for in your plans. Please notify us as soon as possible if you would like to reschedule or shorten your holiday. The earlier you are there, the greater the chance that you will come to an agreement together.

What are the guidelines for going on vacation?

Check the travel advice for the country of destination

Are you going abroad? Then visit the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nederlandwereldwijd.nl . There you can also see which color code applies to each country. With code orange or red it is not allowed to go to that country. You can go with color code yellow. It is important that you realize that the situation can also change once you are there. It may become more difficult to return home, for example if flights are canceled because of a stricter lockdown.

It is useful to download the travel app from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . You can set your holiday country as a favorite and receive a push notification if the travel advice changes.

Do you have to wear a face mask on vacation?

Even if you go on vacation, it will be very different from usual. You have to keep your distance, maybe wear a mouth cap and maybe the catering industry is closed. The rules differ per country. Check these well in advance.

Check your insurance

It is important to know about your insurance. Are you insured in the country you are going to anyway? And does your insurance cover your return trip if you are forced to travel back earlier? Or if you are forced to stay longer, what happens then?

Complaints during your holiday

Of course we hope it doesn't happen, but what if you get sick on vacation? It is important that you report to the local doctor and to the GGD in your place of residence. In this way, risks are properly mapped out, and you may also prevent yourself from posing a risk to your colleagues after your return in Nederland .

Quarantine after your vacation

Even when you're back from vacation, you're not done with everything. We advise you to keep an eye on the travel advice for the country you have been to for another two weeks. If the travel advice changes to code orange or red, it is good if you still go into quarantine for two weeks.

Whether you go on holiday or stay at home, we wish you a nice summer period with lots of relaxation. Stay healthy, have a nice holiday!
