Finally, summer has started. Do you work outside? For example on a construction site, when picking fruit and vegetables or in the catering industry on the terrace? Then take the sun into account. Protect yourself well with the tips below.

Of course, sunlight is especially good for you. In addition to a good mood, the sun makes an important contribution to regulating your day and night rhythm, and ensures the production of vitamin D. This is important for strong bones, among other things. But too long exposure to direct sunlight can be harmful. UV radiation damages the skin cells. You can burn, your skin can age faster and it can cause skin cancer. The sun's radiation can even damage your eyes in the form of cataracts.

In short, reason enough to protect yourself. This can be done in several ways:

  • Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. Try to work in the shade.
  • Cover your body as much as possible. Preferably long sleeves and trouser legs and a cap with a flap at the neck. There is even UV-resistant clothing on the market.
  • Apply sunscreen to parts of your skin that are not protected by clothing. At least factor 30 is necessary and repeat every 2 hours, even more often when sweating. Use cream with a good UVA filter.
  • Wear UV-resistant sunglasses with CE marking.
  • Check your skin regularly suspicious spots
