'The lines are short and people understand us.' Marije Schut, team leader Nutrition at the University Medical Center (UMCU), has been working closely with employment agency Actief Werkt! for two years now. 'Actief does not only supply temporary workers. They think critically with us. They switch quickly and we have one permanent contact person, so it almost feels like we are direct colleagues.'
How it started
'In recent years, the Utrecht hospital has started a number of pilots. Een of this was the construction of the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology. This gave us extra work, but we didn't know for how long. Hiring people on a permanent basis was not an option. And so I came into contact with Stan den Boer , deployment specialist at Actief Werkt! '

'Stan suggested a few very good temporary workers for the open vacancies within a few days. The recruitment went very smoothly. Good and fun candidates, exactly what we were looking for. And Actief did that not only for our department but also for my fellow team leaders. We are now a year and a half later and the selected ladies will be employed on a permanent basis as of April 1,' says Marije.
