Interviews: Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find a number of frequently asked questions about applying for a job and job interviews.

Do I need a CV if I'm going to apply?
Sometimes people come through a new job, or a job interview is scheduled after a phone call. However, it is always good to have a CV. You then have an overview of what you have done and where your qualities lie. It is also good to have your CV ready if requested. It is also an important business card, something to pay attention to.

What is a good resume?
A good CV is clear and well-arranged. There are no typos. Your contact details are prominently displayed. Also try to be complete. Have you obtained a diploma from a course?   that too, so that there is no confusion about it.

What is a profile sketch?
A profile is a short description of who you are and what you are good at. A profile is often part of a CV. You can mention characteristics that are characteristic of you, or skills that you are good at.

Which clothing is appropriate?
It is always good to look groomed. So it is always important that your clothes and hair are clean and not messy. It is good to match your clothes to the company where you are applying. Try to find out through the site or through people who know the company whether people are dressed formally or casually. If you can't figure it out, you can also ask, eg when arranging the conversation. It shows that you are aware of the importance of a good impression.

Do you speak to your interlocutor with you?
That depends on many factors. If someone is older then anyway, unless they indicate that you can say 'you'. When someone is younger you often feel it. If the atmosphere is casual, then perhaps 'you' will suit. If in doubt, just ask.

Is it okay to ask how many other candidates there are?
It is better to ask what the procedure looks like further. When do you hear something?   How many conversations does the procedure consist of? You often get information about 'competitors'. If you ask directly about your competitors, it seems as if you do not rely on your own strength, and that is important of course!
