Does that suit you, working at an employment agency?

4 April 2018 - Silvie van den Berg

What type of job suits you? Do you need a lot of variety, or do you want to be able to focus? Do you come into your own with a lot of people around you, or do you need a quiet working environment? And have you ever wondered whether the temporary employment industry is right for you?

If you are reading this, you may be considering a step into the temporary employment industry, or maybe you are already working in this dynamic industry? Numerous functions are conceivable, and you will meet people from all kinds of different backgrounds.

Intermediaries, recruiters, branch managers, client managers and client coordinators work at Actief Werkt! . We also have our specialists: process specialists, sales managers, HR employees, flex advisors... and we could go on and on. So many people, so many backgrounds, but a few patterns can be discovered.

Switch quickly

First and foremost: being able to switch quickly is a precondition for being successful as an intermediary or branch manager. Being able to adapt to the situation at our customers is our core business. Are additional people needed? Or is it just being scaled down? We anticipate and are therefore always busy with the world of tomorrow. It makes your work varied and dynamic, but it has to suit you. Do you like to finish what you start, and do you want to work thoroughly? Then this flexibility might not suit you.

The customer at the center

We go for satisfied customers. We prefer to exceed expectations. That applies to Actief Werkt! but also to many of our industry peers. The bar is set high and our employees are very service-oriented. That requires the ability to navigate between the needs of yourself, your flex colleague and your customer. Do you think that's a nice challenge? Then the temporary employment sector could be a good match.

A contribution

If there is one industry in which people-oriented and commerce reign supreme, it is the temporary employment sector. We help people find work, and we are therefore in one of the most important 'life domains'. People with a perfect resume and presentation are easiest to guide to work. However, the satisfaction is much greater when you help someone with a nice job, who can use help with that. If you feel that way, you are a   top recruiter. It means that you are not only driven by quick results, but also by the feeling of being able to contribute something to society. It makes you personal and you see the person behind the resume. Yet you also need the same result orientation. You are looking for the balance between giving everyone a chance at work and delivering the best candidate to your client as quickly as possible. That is sometimes quite a challenge.

Colleagues around you

Anyone who has ever stepped over the threshold of an employment agency knows that it can be a pleasant chaos. The phone rings, you are talking to each other, ask for help, celebrate your success. Can you only concentrate when it is quiet? Then you may often have a tendency to withdraw into a room with the door closed. And the question is whether you fit in with the temporary employment sector, in which peace and quiet are sometimes hard to find.

Do you recognize the above?   Reality is never so black and white. The temporary employment sector cannot do without thorough, calm, more solitary people…. So don't let that stop you and take a look at our vacancies!
