Een a look behind the scenes at Inhouse Intercedent Naomi

14 October 2022 -

Naomi van Damme, Inhouse Intercedent for the Cleaning Industry: “Every day I contribute to the great goal of connecting customer and flex worker. I thereby help in fulfilling everyone's needs! And that also gives me a good feeling!”

Naomi's learning and working route in a nutshell

In 2017, Naomi completed her MBO 4 tourism education. Despite her diploma, she didn't immediately know her next step. Because she had enjoyed working in the hospitality industry for years, she decided to do this full-time. After fulfilling various roles she is ready for her 'next step'. Working in job placement seemed like something to her and she worked as an e-recruiter for a short time. Although recruiting candidates went well for her, she wanted more! Mean more in the process of job placement in both the recruitment and the actual placement. And that's where Actief Werkt! came into play.

And then…

In the meantime, Naomi is no longer an unknown face within Actief . Since October 2020 she has been working at Actief Werkt! as Inhouse Intercedent Cleaning.

Hmm… déjà vu?

That could be right! Because you may have already seen Naomi pass by in the recently released video. In which she talks about her career and how she ended up at Actief . But what about Naomi's day-to-day (work) life? What are her real do's and don'ts in the field of work? We questioned Naomi about this!

Imagine, you are in charge of our organization for one day. What would you do?

“Given the tight labor market and the extra work pressure this has created, I would like to introduce the rule for now, for example, that you can call each other no more than once a day (both for internal and external). At the moment I am overloaded with calls with all kinds of ad-hoc requests, which makes it difficult for my planned work to progress. Or maybe introducing a telephone consultation hour is an idea? Hahahahaha…it would be nice if that were possible. On the other hand, I really like the dynamics and the hectic in the workplace, so maybe I would miss those bubbles too!

What I absolutely want to keep the same is the 100% freedom to fill in my own work. That it is not necessarily how you do it, but more about the final output you deliver. In addition, I think it's really cool that we celebrate all successes at Actief , from small to big! Because of corona I haven't been able to experience the infamous parties of Actief yet....but good news, my party debut at Actief is planned in December :-D . I am really looking forward to this!”

At what point in your career did you think: it's now or never?!

“In February of this year, in addition to my work, I started the HBO HRM course at Fontys in Tilburg . At the time it was a lot quieter in terms of work because of corona. So I was really like; If I don't take that opportunity to continue developing myself now, I may never do it. The combination of work and study is quite tough, but I know what I'm doing it for and I also think it's super cool to experience that I can immediately put into practice what I learn at school!"

What work achievement are you super proud of?

“Some time ago, due to the low occupation, I flew in as extra support at another large customer of Actief , Continental Bakeries in Rucphen . When things were back in order there, both customers and flex colleagues told me that they were happy that I was back! I find it extremely important to maintain good personal contact with my network. When you're back after a while, those kinds of reactions give a lot of satisfaction. At least for me it means that I add something for the people with whom and for whom I work, and that's what I do it for!”

Work to live or live to work?

“I can be very short and powerful about that: live to work!!! I'm one of those people who gets energy from work and rather overtime than looking at the clock at half past five to check when it's the end of the working day. Of course I sometimes have an 'off-day', but in general I prefer to have a day full of work-related tasks and then enjoy my free time during the weekend.”

It's 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon... what's going through your mind?
When does the Friday afternoon drink start? OR I'll just enter those 3 candidates I spoke to this afternoon. This way I can immediately introduce them to the customer on Monday morning.

“I will just enter those 3 candidates that I spoke to this afternoon, but with a glass of wine hahahaahhaah…”

Friendly colleague or knowledgeable colleague?

“I prefer a skilled colleague and also when it comes to myself I think that others would call me a skilled colleague rather than a very pleasant colleague, although I really am!”
