Ever worked in the staffing industry? That's why so many people return.

9 March 2018 - Silvie van den Berg

Have you ever worked as an intermediary, branch manager, or consultant? Or is that what you're doing now? You may have noticed that a lot of people who leave the industry also return. What is it, that magical attraction of the industry? We do have an idea.

Our Corporate Recruitment department is running at full capacity. Every day we speak to candidates for vacancies at our branches or at the head office. It is striking how often we speak to people who have experience in the temporary employment sector, then consciously start doing something else, but who then still want to return.
Turnover is high in the temporary employment sector. It seems as if you either 'stick' for a very short time or for a very long time. We also see this with Actief Werkt! . We also have many long tenures. We celebrate many anniversaries every year. We are no longer surprised by a twentieth anniversary!

What is it in the profession that works so magnetically that people come back for it?

  • Combination people-oriented - commercial

There are few sectors in which you are both people-oriented and commercially active. When you work at an employment agency, you have to deal with both sides very strongly. Do you have both in you? Then you can indulge yourself!

  • Enthusiastic colleagues

A quality that you should in any case have is that you are result-oriented. Do you want to find the best candidate, or make the best match, then you go into action! And that action is contagious. Have you ever experienced a request that an entire team sinks its teeth into? Then a vibe is created in which you all go for it. And what a good feeling it gives when it works!

  • The dynamics of the publishing industry

Everyone with broadcasting experience knows this. It doesn't get much more dynamic than that. No day is the same, and you experience the nicest (and the craziest) things. You feel every day that your contribution counts. Delicious isn't it?

Is it recognizable to you, or do you have a different experience? Let us know!
