Exclusive collaboration with Verwater Industrial Services

7 February 2022 -

The Teijin company, located in Nederland with two production locations, was in need of major maintenance. The company also wished to further expand its existing production capacity. To realize this, they have engaged technical service provider Verwater Industrial Services Noord Oost (Verwater). Who, in turn, sat down with Actief Techniek to be able to guarantee the personnel deployment of the work. Een collaboration that was great and challenging for all involved. In terms of size, required hours, short time frame and also in a tight labor market, while the corona pandemic is being felt everywhere. Nevertheless, we managed to get the project done through good #teamwork. How? Read on quick!

Short lead time, enormous size in man-hours, 13 professional groups.
How do you do it?!

Gaining insight and making a large-scale maintenance project manageable is always priority number 1. When Verwater was given the order, they immediately started working on this and the total scope was elaborated in detail. It soon became apparent that a large and diverse palette of technical expertise was required, in addition to the ongoing work.

At the end of 2020, the talks between Verwater and Actief Techniek started. The reason for this was that Verwater soon realized that - with a non-centrally coordinated approach to personnel deployment - many agencies would fish in the same (and too small) pool of manpower by separate tender. Certainly in view of the specialist know-how of the required craftsmen. At Actief Techniek they know these people through and through. They work with them on a daily basis. Know the mutual understanding and their craftsmanship and know what to do with each other. This made them a good discussion partner for a structural collaboration, in line with Verwater's peak staffing and needs.

'At Actief Techniek we know exactly which skilled workers are needed for specialist work. Because we have a reliable team at our disposal and a large network of partners, we knew better than anyone that we could get Verwater's job done.' According to Jesper Swieters , commercial manager of Actief Techniek .

In order to make the commitment concrete, a multidisciplinary Active team has been put together from several branches with managers, planners and a project leader. All required expertise has been clarified and the desired commitment has been quantified in hours. On the basis of all the information, Actief has successfully drawn up a clear and concrete plan of action. The result is an exclusive collaboration between Verwater and Actief Techniek . As a partner, Actief was responsible for the entire staffing of the project by deploying skilled workers from its own (strong) network, supplemented by professionals from fellow employment agencies with whom the organization has good cooperation. By joining forces and maintaining a central point of contact, the job at Verwater was brought to a successful conclusion together.

' When major maintenance takes these forms, reliable partners are crucial. We therefore looked for the best match we could find, both for the supply of maintenance materials and for personnel deployment. All agreements made were fulfilled by Actief and project leader Jorn van Bergen continuously kept a finger on the pulse to coordinate supply and demand on a weekly basis. Moreover, new skilled workers were already included in the safety instructions online and then received on the work floor every Monday morning to be shown the way for a successful start.   As a result, we were able to complete the major maintenance project in Delfzijl within 8 weeks and even carry out additional work.

The expansion work in Emmen will also continue steadily until the beginning of 2022. As a project leader, I know better than anyone that such projects have many critical success factors. I therefore find it extra pleasant to experience that the continuity of personnel deployment is not a surprise in this. But you can count on 'just good' staff according to appointment and planning.' According to Gerrit Alles , responsible for personnel deployment at Verwater Industrial Services North East .

Actief Techniek acts as a central point of contact throughout the project when it comes to personnel deployment. Both for the total planning, the administration flow and the invoicing. Everything runs through the project team. Een approach in which Verwater receives maximum unburdening so that they too can focus on what is important to them, a safe realization within the agreed time and budget. And that is exactly what Actief Techniek stands for!

'It is wonderful to see that, after so much preparatory work, such a large group of skilled workers is actually working on the project. Proud that we have been able to perform this together and bring it to a successful conclusion! The intensive collaboration with Verwater, our external industry peers and various internal departments have shown that we are capable of a great deal'. Said Jorn van Bergen , project leader on the Verwater Industrial Services North East project of Actief Techniek .
