2. Are you going out? Bring a snack

3. Don't go grocery shopping when you're hungry

The most common mistake is to go to the supermarket hungry. You unconsciously take too many things that seem tasty to you because of your appetite! So eat well at home before you go shopping. This way you not only save a lot of money, but you also do not buy unnecessary products that you will regret later.

4. Pin an amount for groceries every month

Prepare a budget for groceries per month and take this amount. When you pay with a debit card, you lose the overview faster and you spend more money. With cash you have more overview in your wallet.

5. Facetime or Skype more often instead of calling

Skype with a friend

Do you have a subscription with unlimited calling? Then the way you call doesn't matter that much. But if you don't have this, calling minutes are quite expensive compared to internet costs. In addition, it is also much nicer if you can see each other when you call someone.

6. Never in the red again

Do you have a hole in your hand? Then it can just happen that you end up in the red at the bank. This does not give you a good feeling, but you also pay debit interest on the red at the bank.   It is therefore smart to set the bank that you cannot be in the red.

7. Drink water or tea more often

Leave the expensive juices and soft drinks in the supermarket and stick to water and tea as much as possible. It is not only cheaper, but also healthier. Because you consume less sugars. Also try to limit coffee and alcohol as much as possible.

8. Sell old stuff

Do you have old things that you no longer use, such as furniture or clothing? Don't throw it away, but sell it through a website such as Marktplaats. Then you get some money for it and you might make someone else very happy with it.

9. Compare Articles Online

Are you about to purchase an expensive product? Then look online to see if other stores also sell this product and compare the prices. Prices are simply higher in some stores than others, so it's always a good idea to look online to see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

10. Meet up with friends at home more often

Fancy a nice evening? In the catering industry, the products go upside down no less than three times. Invite your friends home more often and organize a cozy evening with board games, for example. You then have more attention for each other and you do not have to spend money on expensive drinks.
