The sun is shining more often, the birds are chirping happily and the temperatures outside are starting to rise. The summer holidays are almost in sight and you will soon have plenty of time. Do you want to earn some extra pocket money? Then the summer holidays are an excellent opportunity to do so. Have you already thought about what kind of holiday job you would most like? Start your orientation now and score the summer job of your life. Active work is happy to give you 5 tips!

1. Start on time

The best holiday jobs are quickly filled. So start in time with your orientation and applying for a summer job. For example, keep an eye on our vacancies and who knows, maybe your ideal holiday job is one of them. Or simply set a vacancy alert and we will immediately let you know if a new vacancy is available in the field in which you would like to work.

2. Spread Your Chances

Do not focus on one vacancy, but take your time and make a list of various nice vacancies. If you keep focusing on one vacancy and you don't get the job in the end, there is a chance that other nice vacancies are already filled. So be sure to apply for multiple vacancies. This way you increase the chance of a nice holiday job.

3. Call or visit in person

Sending standard motivation letters and CVs is now a bit outdated. People like personal contact. If you call or drop by, you better stick in the memory of your future employer and you have a better chance of landing that nice holiday job. So don't be afraid to stop by or pick up the phone and ask some questions about the feature.

4. Be creative

For a change, record a job application video or make a job application vlog and convince your future employer of your talents. This way you not only stand out, but you also immediately show that you are creative and have guts.

5. Pimp your resume

Go crazy and make an original resume. There are several original and creative CV layouts available on the internet, which you can download and use (for free). This will refresh your CV in no time and make you stand out!

Last but not least: make sure you have a clean e-mail address with which you apply. Een e-mail address that contains many strange words or characters is not easily taken seriously. Keep it simple and preferably just use your own name. This will make you appear more professional and increase your chances of getting the job.

Be careful not to go too far with your creativity and make sure that your way of applying is appropriate for the position you want. Do you have any questions or could you use a little help? Please feel free to contact us.
