To work safely, the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is extremely important. PPE is used by flex workers who practice occupations that risks, in order to prevent injury and physical damage.
Use of the PPE
To ensure that PPE provides the right protection, the equipment must always meet essential health and safety requirements. Een PPE only provides protection when used according to the manufacturer's instructions. For example, is there a tear in your safety clothing or has your safety helmet suffered a huge blow? Then the agent must be replaced immediately.
It is also important to be aware of keeping your PPE intact. Did you know, for example, that sticking stickers on a safety helmet damages the plastic of the helmet? The glue can affect the plastic so that it can no longer function optimally. This also applies when you put your helmet in the sun. Going through the instructions that come with your PPE is crucial to reduce risks in the workplace. Een good protection prevents unnecessary injury.
PPE and the coronavirus
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, it is important that you keep your PPE clean and use it correctly. Therefore, only use your own PPE and do not lend your PPE to colleagues.
