Diversity and inclusion

Actief Werkt! recognizes the great importance of working together to create a diverse and more inclusive environment. In the world, in our society and also at work. We discuss with our clients about how this is implemented in their organization. And we contribute to this in the recruitment of talent. We only select candidates based on competencies and job-relevant characteristics and always engage in personal discussions. Only then will you get to know each other and we can make the best match. We support the view that everyone benefits in an inclusive working environment. We see every day in the workplace that organizations with more diversity perform better. These organizations are more creative, can implement innovations faster and recognize much faster which themes are important for the future.


Awareness

In our organization, working on inclusivity starts with raising awareness among our own employees. We pay attention to diversity and inclusivity in the induction program and training of our employees. Een important target group is our intermediaries and recruiters. After all, they are in discussions with candidates every day. In our organization, our managers consciously work on inclusive leadership. Fit, fair and forward are the pillars of this policy.

The ABU campaign “Will you cooperate? say no” is aimed at helping intermediaries how to deal with discriminatory requests. The tools made available there are offered to all our employees.

In addition, we offer new employees training on inclusivity and discrimination in the workplace during the induction program. How do you recognize this and how do you discuss it? Our anti-discrimination policy is known to all our employees.

We train our employees in writing vacancy texts. It is important to pay continuous attention to this step in the recruitment process. How do we ensure that our vacancies are offered in such a way that everyone feels welcome to apply? That is a start to achieving an accurate reflection of our society.

Actief Werkt! does not discriminate! Everyone deserves equal opportunities and we therefore adhere to equal treatment legislation. We do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of characteristics that do not matter, such as gender, religion, belief, political opinion, race, nationality, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or chronic illness and age.

We expect our employees to adhere to this and to hold others accountable. When recruiting and selecting candidates, only “job-relevant characteristics” are taken into account. In the event of a discriminatory request, we will immediately address the customer and try to determine the true request. If the customer persists with his discriminatory request, we will terminate the collaboration. Discrimination? Unacceptable!

The ABU and its members are committed to a labor market without discrimination. This is stated in our rules of conduct. All ABU members must also have an anti-discrimination policy, implement it and regularly evaluate it. ABU members receive checks for this. With training, information and mystery calls, the ABU ensures that combating labor market discrimination remains high on the agenda.

The value of temporary work is and remains great. Working through the employment agency is accessible and offers everyone who wants a job opportunity.
For example, the temporary employment sector has created 16% of the additional jobs in the jobs agreement. 24% of working status holders have found work through an employment agency. For 32% of unemployment benefit recipients who return to work, the employment agency is their entry point into the labor market. 76% of unemployment workers who started again through a temporary job are still working three years later.
