Royal FloraHolland in Naaldwijk employs more than 500 logistics employees every day who ensure that the flowers are sent to the buyer as freshly and quickly as possible. This is a big logistical puzzle. As a Head Planner you work closely with the planning manager and you are the first point of contact for various departments, such as the team managers on the floor and the employment agencies.
Your working day starts early, around 6:00 am. You work in an informal and friendly team of 4 planners where you keep an overview and delegate tasks. You support and coach your colleagues where necessary and together you ensure that the planning for the next 6 to 10 weeks is made. Of course you have daily changes and ad hoc actions that need to be followed up.
