As a Baggage Handler at Schiphol you can really make a difference! You will receive a starting salary of € 14.46 / hour. This salary can amount to € 27.47 / hour due to all allowances in the evenings, nights and weekends. You start with a 2-day training course in which you are taught all the basic tricks of the trade. These two days have been paid for. In addition, you can be scheduled at least 3 days a week based on your availability. Travel costs are also 100% reimbursed if you come by public transport. If you come by car, you will receive a free parking space at Schiphol and you will receive a reimbursement of a maximum of € 23.00 per day worked (€ 0.23 per km). Has your interest been aroused? What does your day look like as a Baggage Handler at Schiphol ?
It is important to mention that as a Baggage and Service employee you will not be removing suitcases from airplanes and placing them on the tires. This is done by an external party!
As a Baggage Operations Support (BOS) employee in the baggage department, your work consists of the following:
As a Service Employee you have various tasks. You will be trained on the floor to become an all-round BOS employee. As a BOS employee you have to deal with various tasks. You'll first need to learn how to read a suitcase label, which will get you started in the coding department. Once you understand how the labels are read, take a look at odd-size. Once you have mastered this well, you will grow into an all-round BOS employee. As an all-rounder you can be deployed anywhere. The tasks are listed below:
It is a service-oriented position, in principle not physically demanding work. But you work in the baggage cellar and there are malfunctions or problems around Schiphol that compromise the baggage system, then you must be prepared to move suitcases.
What are the working hours?
You work in different shifts, see below how it is approximately divided (the shifts consist of 6 or 8 hours per shift):
You will work through employment agency Actief Werkt! as a Baggage Handler at the largest and most important airport of Nederland , Schiphol !
NB! At Schiphol you cannot start immediately. To apply for your Schiphol Pass, we submit a request to the Royal Military Police. This procedure can take 2 to 4 weeks. As soon as you have received your VGB (No Objection Declaration) from the Royal Military Police, you can pick up your Schiphol pass and you can start shortly afterwards. Keep this in mind!
