Laboratory Technician

At the Molecular Platform facility, as a Senior Laboratory Technician you have a pivotal role with regard to molecular determinations within Sanquin. In a small team you carry out different automated tests on a robotized street every day. Depending on the demand from the departments and the desired timeframe, you determine together when which work will be carried out. 

Your activities include the following tasks: 
- Use of DNA and RNA isolations using isolation robots; 
- Using cDNA synthesis and various (real-time) PCRs using various pre-PCR robots; 
- Carrying out the first quality control on the isolations and PCRs used. 

Within the position of Senior Laboratory Technician, we are looking for a colleague who wants to improve processes with us. Developments and improving processes are therefore the order of the day. 

As a colleague, your ideas are of great value. Within the Molecular Platform you are part of a small permanent team that works closely with various departments.

About the client

The blood bank in Amsterdam provides the blood supply to Nederland . In addition to collecting, processing and dispensing blood products, this client is also involved in making reagents, conducting research and providing education.

- Salary according to the Sanquin collective labor agreement scale 40; €2300 - €3163 based on 36 hours. 

What we ask of you:

At least a completed MLO4 education, preferably a specialization or experience in molecular biology; 
- Een accurate and results-oriented working method; 
- You enjoy working in a team and like to think about how to improve our processes 
- Excellent oral and written reporting skills in Dutch; 
- Good reading skills in the English language; 
- Demonstrable affinity with automated systems is desirable;
