Baggage handler

Do you want to work at Schiphol , do you have a B driver's license and do you live within 30 kilometers of Schiphol ? We are looking for a Baggage and Service Employee for Schiphol .

What makes this position special? 53 million pieces of luggage roll through Schiphol every year. As a Baggage Operations Support employee at Schiphol you have the important task of getting them to the right destination. We will help you get started with a paid two-day training course in which you will learn all the tricks of the trade. You will receive a starting salary of €14.46/hour, which can increase to €27.47/hour due to allowances in the evening, night and weekends.

What are you going to do? As a Service Employee in the luggage department you will grow into an all-round BOS employee. You start by learning to read suitcase labels and start in the coding department. Then you move to odd-size and eventually you become an all-round BOS employee. Your tasks include:

• Investigating lost luggage and coordinating its return;
• Checking in special types of luggage, such as golf bags and skis;
• Registering baggage in the system and assigning it to the correct handler;
• Moving suitcases at Schiphol with Driving License B;
• Coding suitcases with unreadable labels.

Although it is mainly a service-oriented position, you must be prepared to move suitcases if there are malfunctions or problems surrounding Schiphol .

Work shifts:

• Morning shift between 3:45 AM and 9:45 AM, ending no later than 6:00 PM;
• Afternoon shift starts at 12:45 PM and ends no later than 10:30 PM;
• Evening/night shift from 9:45 PM to 6:00 AM or 1:45 AM to 10:00 AM.

• Basic salary of €14.46/hour, increasing to €27.47/hour;
• Basic salary of at least € 2,184 / month based on 36 hours (excluding allowances);
• Surcharges for morning, evening, night and weekend shifts between 130% and 190%;

What we ask of you:

• Good command of the Dutch language in speech
• Available for at least 2 days during the week from 4:45 am (minimum available on Mondays)
• In possession of a driving license (B) and at least 1 year of driving experience
• Living in Nederland for at least 8 years (required for the Schiphol Pass)
